A barber works in a barbershop. Almost all of them are closed on Sundays and Mondays. It is not know exactly when barbers came into being, but they have a significant place in history back to written times, even before barber poles were created. They were called different names in different cultures but the concept remains the same.

Today all barbers have to get a license to cut hair in the state they will be doing business in. The licensing requirements vary by each state so you will have to find out for your particular state. There are a set number of hours that the individual has to have in training as well as observing various barbershop practices and barber pole setup.

There are also licensing requirements that involve safety practices and sanitation for the products, tools, and equipment used in the various processes of cutting hair, shaving, and giving trims to facial hair. The internet is a good source of information for anyone interested in finding out the specific barber requirements to become licensed in their state, as well as where to pick up a barber pole as well.

Many people go back to their barber because of the friendly atmosphere and they know what they can expect from their haircut. The prices are often less expensive than at a beauty salon as well. It is common for a barber to remain in business for decades so it becomes a tradition for a grandfather, son, and grandchildren to all go to the same place for their haircuts.

Most kids have parents that are willing to make big investments to make them happy. For example, how many kids have you seen with big fancy bunk beds in their room? You even see them with double bunk beds with tents and everything. So why not spend the money for a decent hair cut?

There are countless types of barber poles and cool hair cuts, and if you can see I even had to make up names for the looks my brother had. I called the 50/50 hair do a style that had half of the head trimmed really short, and the other half trimmed down not so short. But the trimming had to be done in such a manner that the middle had to be longer than the rest, really complicated do if you ask me. My brother said he would like to copy German soccer team player, Bastian Schweinsteiger, but he’s never actually got to copy it as good.

But the coolness of the barber pole and of a hair style really depends on the image you want to express. For example, a completely shaved head doesn’t suit most people, or at least it certainly didn’t work for my brother. I’d say that the classical cool hair cuts for men are spiky hair, long hair and small Mohawks.

But there are cool styles for different kind of men. For teenagers the above mentioned is perfectly good, but for guys a little bit older there are different styles and certainly many different types of barber poles. A guy that always seems to have a cool hair do is David Beckham, so I would recommend you to keep an eye out for him because he always seems to have that good looking hair we women love so much! Another famous personality that has always had a great hair cut, one of my favorites, is James Bond. No matter which actor represents him, James Bond will always have a great looking hair style.

But no matter who, or which style you choose to have, a cool hair cut style can only look cool if it’s the right one for you. It all depends on your facial shape, hair color – which is a huge factor is defining which is cool and which is not -, and confidence. An excellent tip is to bring a picture of the style you want to your hairdresser and ask him if it fits your or which fits you. And remember not to jump into the first barber shop that has a flashy looking barber pole!
